Finding Editorials In Lexis Nexis

Start here:

www.lib.utexas.edu/indexes > Shortcuts to Selected Resources > LexisNexis Academic

1. Choose News

2. Enter your search terms connected by AND

3. Next to “Add index terms” click Show. Under the Subject menu, choose Editorials & Opinions and run your search.

TIP! When you limit to Editorials and Opinions, you're only receiving results from the Editorials & Opinions section of the newspapers. If you're researching a sports-related topic, you'll also find valuable viewpoint content from columnists in the Sports section of newspapers.

  • To limit to this content, choose "Sports and Recreation" from the first Industry menu. You'll receive sports-related results from both the Sports section and other sections of the newspapers.
  • There isn't a way to limit to editorial and opinion content just from the sports section. Limiting to Industry: Sports & Recreation and Subject or Section: Editorials & Opinion will only retrieve sports-related content from the Editorials & Opinion section of the newspapers.
