How Do I Use The KIC Scanner

What is a KIC Scanner?

A KIC Scanner is a walkup unit for scanning color and/or black and white material. The KIC Scanner can scan material up to 24 x 17.

How do I use a KIC Scanner?

Scanning instructions (KIC_Scanner_Instructions.pdf) are located alongside each KIC Scanning station. Also, follow the prompts on the touch panel.

How do I save scanned material?

You can save scanned material onto a USB drive (flash drive or memory stick).

4GB USB drives are for sale in the Library Copier Services office (PCL 1.102) for $12.

After logging in to the attached workstation, UT students, staff, and faculty can send the scanned images (all or selected) out via email.

KIC Scanners are NOT directly connected to any printers at this point in time.

Where are the KIC Scanners located?

Please visit the Find a Scanner entry for the locations of KIC and other scanners in all libraries.

For more information, please peruse the FAQs_KIC_scanner.pdf.
