Edit Basics

Click here to get a printable version of these instructions

  1. To add tags to the bottom of a page, type (:tags first tag, second tag, third tag:) at the bottom of the page. This will enable your page to be included in our categories feature.
  2. Put a blank line between paragraphs
  3. To make a list, start each line with # for numbered (ordered) lists or * for bulleted (unordered) lists.
  4. To make a heading, start a line with two or more ! marks; !! is a subheading, and !!! is a sub-subheading.
  5. To bold/italicize text, use the and buttons on the formatting toolbar
  6. To make a link to another page, enclose the page's name in double brackets; for example [[EditBasics]] links to a page named EditBasics.
  7. To create a new page, click Create a New Topic in the sidebar.
  8. To make a link to another site, type its address, such as http://www.example.com/ .

You will also have a cheat sheet at the bottom of whatever page you are editing. So, if you forget any of these rules when you're editing a page, scroll down!
